Often referred to as ‘Part 1’, this Zoom Halloumi and Mozzarella session is ideal for those who are new to the wonderful world of cheese making! We will talk through theory in the most detail as it’s important you understand the magic of turning good quality milk into delicious cheese at the outset.
Unlike other cheeses, these two have the added bonus of being fully completed within the session, so can be enjoyed within an hour or so – how great is that?!
This halloumi recipe really is the best, producing a reliable, perfectly textured bite with the all important squeak too! Often thought to be way too salty, it’s not the case when you make your own as salt levels can be amended to suit your own palette.
And as for the mozzarella – with my guidance and experience you will ‘nail it’, producing the most fabulous creamy texture with an unbelievable stretch!! If you’ve made it before unsuccessfully, you’ll also understand where you’ve gone wrong!
You’ll be sent a kit with vegetarian rennet, calcium chloride, cheese mould, cheese cloth and citric acid. Recipes and equipment lists will be emailed well in advance with the Zoom login link emailed the week of session.
